In Barbara’s words:
My "way" of life is to never stop learning - about myself, people, and the planet on which we all live; exploring new ways to connect with others and observing how as human consciousness and habits evolve so does how we relate to each other and judge the meaning of success and happiness. My approach to personal and organizational transformation is similar – analysis-based, fact-driven and human-focused with enough "new age" wisdom to look beyond the obvious to drive positive results.

Barbara Pamplin’s life was changed by 50, 3, and 3. That's 50 days in Intensive Care, 3 open heart surgeries, and 3 deaths and resuscitations – all in the fall of 2017. Barbara has written a memoir/self-help book that looks through the lens of family dynamics, personal narrative-making, and the legacy of slavery and institutional racism to examine the core beliefs that took a toll on her heart and how she is transforming those beliefs to reclaim her well-being. Her book, From Fat, Black, and Unlovable to Beautiful. Powerful. Love., offers personal practices that guide us through self-reflection, perspective-taking, and celebration—all in service of healing and transformation. In addition to writing the book, the author partnered to create the Beautiful. Powerful. Love. event series creating opportunities for health and healing through arts and culture. With this work, Barbara invites Black women and others to celebrate and engage in the soul work of personal transformation, to confront the health crisis among Black women at its root level. Barbara is no stranger to the concept of change and transformation, even within organizations. Barbara is the former Chief Marketing Officer for the YMCA of Greater Seattle who modernized the non-profit’s marketing efforts through centralizing and expanding the marketing department, replacing legacy marketing technology, transforming internal processes, and championing data-driven decision making. She also developed new global direct acquisition strategies for the Microsoft’s Office family of products (including Office 365 and iOS app launches) and drove global paid search for Xbox consoles, services, and various game titles. She was also Microsoft's Mobile Marketing Global Practice Lead — developing mobile marketing training, process, and tools as well as consulting on critical projects for the company’s thousands of marketers across 51 countries. Barbara’s mission is to support personal transformation through content and programs that help individuals grow and find balance, while working with organizations to support growth and retention among diverse employee populations through targeted initiatives.
